Tandoori masala is an Indian spice mixture that is named after the tandoor, the clay oven in which it is traditionally used.
The ingredients of the blend are first roasted, and then ground together for a deeper flavour profile. This results in a rich and flavourful blend with plenty of heat, with a deep red colour from freshly ground Kashmiri chili peppers. When used, this masala will fill your kitchen with the intensely pleasant aromas of the Indian subcontinent.
This blend is often used in combination with garam masala to add another layer of flavour and complexity.
This blend does not contain salt, which can be added to taste.
Ingredients: Coriander seeds, Cinnamon, Kashmiri chili pepper, Sweet paprika, Cumin, Black pepper, Nutmeg, Cloves, Ginger, Green cardamom, Mace, Black cardamom, fenugreek leaves.
May contain traces of mustard and celery.
